Olivier Giroud is going to shave his head after winning the World Cup

When Oliver Giroud joined Chelsea from Arsenal in late January, he brought two things with him.
One was his skill as a target man, finally providing Antonio Conte with a center-forward around whom he could organize his attack. Giroud fit in seamlessly and by the end of the season was Chelsea’s first-choice center forward, getting the nod ahead of Alvaro Morata in the FA Cup final.
The other thing he brought was magnificent hair. His unbelievably lush beard is stuff that gets your attention. It gives a new definition to the phrase “full beard.” But he’s also blessed with a scalp that’s the envy of any many man who’s seeing signs of the dreaded male pattern baldness creeping in.
Which brings us to the World Cup. And making bets that you might live to regret.

Apparently Giroud made a public promise to shave his head if France won the World Cup. To the dismay of whoever sells him his hair-care products, that’s exactly what just happened and now Giroud has to make good. He’s now set to fulfill his promise after next weekend and the baptism of his child.

French television wasn’t so keen on waiting, though. In fact, they tried to get started while the Chelsea man was live on the air after the win.
We believe him to be a man of his word, so we’re probably going to see a shaven-headed Giroud when he comes to the team after his post-World Cup holiday. It’s going to be odd.
Let’s hope he doesn’t ditch the beard, too. We may not recognize him.
(Ed.note: some of us are still getting used to Drogba with no hair, after all!)
